Summer Reading Program

Dig into Reading : May 18 – July 31
All children ages 2 and up are eligible. To participate, pick up a packet (folder, log sheet, log stickers, and a bookmark) and fill out a registration form in the Children’s Department. Registration will begin on May 13 and continue until July 7. Each space on the log sheet represents 20 minutes of reading. When participants read or are read to for 20 minutes, place a sticker on the log sheet. The program is 11 ½ weeks in length.
Prizes are awarded at the halfway point and at the completion of the program.
- 500 minutes/25 stickers : temporary tattoo, bone-shaped eraser, dinosaur stamper, Tropical Moose snow cone coupon, and 5 raffle tickets to be place in the prize drawing of your choice.
- 1000 minutes/50 stickers : plastic book bag, flying disc, magnetic bookmark, animal balloon, rock bouncing ball, mini beach play set, Serendipity ice cream coupon, an invitation to attend the snow cone party at the end of the summer, 10 additional raffle tickets, plus 1 entry into the drawing for the Kindle Fire e-book reader.
All prizes and raffle tickets, both 500 minutes and 1000 minutes, will be unavailable for pickup until July 1.
Reading log sheets must be completed and submitted to the Children’s Department by Wednesday, July 31, to be eligible for all prizes.
