WGPL is joining Missouri Evergreen!

Webster Groves Public Library, along with the rest of the Municipal Library Consortium, are changing to a new ILS (Integrated Library System) and will be joining Missouri Evergreen — a consortium of over 70 library systems statewide!

What does this mean for you as a library user?

  • A new, more user-friendly catalog
  • Access to a combined collection of over 4 million items
  • Reduced hold wait times on titles and more

There will be some minor interruptions to service as we make this transition. Some things to note about this:

  • The catalog and access to your account will be down Monday, Oct. 14th through Thursday, Oct. 17th.  During this time, you will not be able to place holds, browse the catalog, or get a new library card. You will still be able to check out existing holds and items on the shelf with your library card and online resources should still be active.
  • When we go live, your pin/password will have to be reset. It will be the last 4 of the phone number on your Library account.
  • If you have lists saved to your library account, those will not transfer over – Library staff are happy to help you save that information in another format if needed.
  • Patrons should discontinue use of the old MLC app beginning October 13th

Library staff will be on hand to answer your questions and ready to help you as we move through this process.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I check out and return books while the catalog is down?

During this time, you will be able to check out items that are already on the hold shelf or that you find in the Library – With your Library card number – we will not be able to look you up in the system during this time.

Can I return books while the catalog is down?

Yes, but keep in mind that no items will be due between Oct. 14 and 17, and we ask that, if possible, you hold onto your items until the transition is complete on Oct. 18th, as we won’t be able to check anything in until the new ILS is up and running

Will my Reading History be preserved?

Yes, your Reading History should migrate to our new ILS. That being said, glitches happen. So if you are concerned about losing your Reading History, consider printing it from your My Account page on our catalog. This must be done prior to October 14th.

Will my Saved Lists be preserved?

No, Saved Lists will be lost in the transition. If you want to preserve your Saved Lists, consider printing/emailing it from your My Account page on our catalog. Library staff are happy to assist with this. You will be able to create new Save Lists after the migration.

Will there still be a Library app?

Yes, though our app is changing. With our migration to Evergreen, we will be getting a new library app. The old app should no longer be used as of October 13th.

This project is funded through the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provision of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
